Using screenshots, describe the development of your image noting what tools you used in Photoshop and why.

October 16, 2010

I decided to work with the stairs concept.

To make the images I opened them in photoshop and cut out the person with the quick selection tool (Highlighted in red)

After deleting the background I moved the newly cut out image to the background image,

cleaned up smaller parts with the eraser

and resized it with the free transform tool.

For the other person in the photo I used a layer mask. First I duplicated the layer then I added the layer mask via the add layer mask button (Highlighted in red)

Next I used the paintbrush tool with black to paint on the layer mask, changing the outside edges of my subject to Alpha (Transparency)

I moved back to using the quick select tool to cut out Elliot.

After moving Elliot into the photo and resizing it I had this image.

After a bit of colour correction using Image/Adjustments/Colour Balance.

Then added shadow using the burn tool.

And that produced my final image.
